My cat keeps licking me

My cat keeps licking me.
No matter where i go or what i'm doing, my cat is constantly licking me.

Today i was eating breakfast when suddenly my cat appeard and started licking my face.
Before i already told you something about cats licking and today i want to talk about the special fact that your cat licks you.

Basicly, cats lick each other and themselves for cleaning reasons.
A simple translation from this would mean, that your cat licks you, because it wants to clean your face for example. Maybe you ate something tasty, what your cat still smells.

Most times, this won't be the case. Since we use the shower and tube, we aren't that dirty that we need to be cleaned by our cats.

So if our cat keeps licking us, we need another explanation for that.
In a cats world, licking each other provides social value aswell.

So if our cats lick us, they might say "i like you" and they feel emotional nearness too us.

Please don't punish your cat for licking your face, but feel honored by it.
It means you did everything right until now and your cat likes the homde you providing.

Cats licking

We all experience that there are cats licking each other and themselves.
They lick faces, they are licking people and mine even lick my screen.
But there is a reason for this: Cats use their licking for multiple reasons and I’ll start with the one you probably already know.
Cats lick themselves for cleaning their body. Since they don’t take bathes on their own, you need to find another way of cleaning and that’s what the licking provides.
Cats’ tongues are full of hooked papillae, which make it act like a hairbrush, cleaning their body.

A cat experiences getting licked right after it got born.

Another reason for cats licking each other comes along with a social aspect.
Newborn kittens can’t clean themselves so their mother got to do this for them.
By doing so, they build up a strong relationship and get close together.
When cats lick each other, they express these kinds of feelings. They would never lick a foreign cat.
If your cat is licking your face, it means that it cares for you. It grooms you.
Cats licking people is always a sign for that you treat them well and they respect and love you.
